Towed fish ballast wing

Towed fish ballast wing

Stable diving and precise towing

The towed fish ballast wing is a domestically customized auxiliary diving device specially designed by our company for EdgeTech 4200 and 4205 series side scan sonar. In response to the problem of fish being easily affected by ocean currents and having unstable posture during towing operations in shallow water areas, this product increases underwater weight and fluid dynamics correction to ensure that sonar towed fish maintain preset depth and roll posture in complex hydrological environments, significantly improving the quality of raw data acquisition.

Key Features & Advantages

Main Applications

  • Side scan sonar for shallow water towing

Specially designed for towing operations of 4200/4205 side scan sonar in shallow waters, rivers, lakes, and other water areas, maintaining a horizontal towing posture and avoiding "nodding" or "flipping" phenomena.

  • High precision ocean surveying and mapping

Auxiliary side scan sonar is used to obtain clearer and distortion free underwater acoustic images in navigation surveys, and is suitable for underwater pipeline surveys, underwater sediment exploration, and channel dredging monitoring.

  • Platform stability upgrade

Provide low-cost and highly reliable physical stabilization solutions for existing marine survey equipment, enhancing the operational capabilities of old vessels in harsh sea conditions.
